Catastrophe Insight

The Catastrophe Insight portal draws on the aggregated data from Aon Benfield’s Impact Forecasting team and is designed to be an easily accessible source of information on global natural catastrophe events. It provides a breakdown of economic/insured loss data for the current year plus the previous ten years, and users can compare losses by peril type or sort the data by a specific peril and download the resultant chart or line graph. The site also contains several lists of historical top 10 events that are compiled by overall economic/insured loss and by specific peril or region. Graphs showing aggregate annual losses and their percent to GDP ratio dating to 1980 are also available. The portal is free to access, but if the data is reproduced, we ask that the following citation is used: “Source: Aon Benfield”. Users are encouraged to sign-up below to receive real-time analysis of current global natural disaster events via Aon Benfield's Cat Reports.

Hover over the map for access to insured and economic loss data on a global or regional basis.
